A company you just started working for, Parts Are Us, sells auto parts. The company has 200 stores in North America. There are normally 15-20 people that work in each store, and they all have a local tower server with a local application, StoreApp, that provides all of the information about the parts and products sold in the local store. The servers that are deployed all use (2) 400 GB basic disks and the concern is that there is only enough free space on these disks as the application grows. The application disk utilization if growing about 25 % per year. Snapshot of a representative server: Tower server with (2) quad core processing boards, GPU and RAID card Running Windows Server 2012 R2 Space for 5 disk drives (5 bays) 2 of the 5 bays are being used, 1 for the Windows os and 1 for the store application -Disk 1 – Windows Server 2012 R2 -Disk 2 – StoreApp Application disk Disk1 30 % utilized Disk2 85 % utilized Disk drives available from the hardware vendor: Same 400 GB drives used in the server currently Larger 600 GB drive but these are more expensive Goal: Use the same server hardware but purchase additional disks to put in each server. Provide better method to protect the data from a disk failure. Ensure disk utilization is always less than 60%. Provide more disk space that will last for the next 3 years of growth. Given the scenario described above, recommend a new disk configuration to meet the described goals. Describe the steps, at a high level, for implementing your new disk configuration.

Given a link with a maximum transmission rate of 32.8 mbps. only two computers, x and y, wish to transmit starting at time t = 0 seconds. computer x sends filex (4 mib) and computer y sends filey (244 kib), both starting at time t = 0. statistical multiplexing is used, with details as follows packet payload size = 1000 bytes packet header size = 24 bytes (overhead) ignore processing and queueing delays assume partial packets (packets consisting of less than 1000 bytes of data) are padded so that they are the same size as full packets. assume continuous alternating-packet transmission. computer x gets the transmission medium first. at what time (t = ? ) would filey finish transmitting? give answer in milliseconds, without units, and round to one decimal places (e.g. for an answer of 0.013777 seconds you would enter "13.8" without the quotes)
