I have a problem with Instagram.
So I have multiple accounts on Instagram and I am currently using my laptop. I have a main account (the one that I'm on the most) and another one that I rarely use but I just have it for different reasons. Anyway, I log into my "backup" account on google chrome on my laptop and I'm shocked to see that there's a new feature on the screen.
I see the direct message icon thing (your inbox) and I thought "wow, well this is new" I click it and there it is. It shows my old conversations from other people. Now, at this point I thought to myself that Instagram probably just added a new update maybe? So I log out of that and go to my main account. When I log in, I'm disappointed and confused. It does not show it on this account.
So my point is, I just thought its convenient to have direct messages on my laptop as well (also note the fact that my phone has been taken away and having access to communicate to people on my laptop is really useful).
I hope I explained this enough because I'm not the best at explaining.
If you still don't get what I'm saying... please keep reading.

Alright so, I'm just simply confused on why my other account that I don't often use has direct messages on it (this is on laptop again) and on the other hand my main account does not.

Is there a way to "enable" direct messages on specific accounts?
Thank you so much!!
NOTE if you don't clearly know the solution but know a little bit about this topic, please don't hesitate to answer! Anything I'll consider more than helpful!
Thank you!!
