Each ruler has markings and the usual measurement is 1 foot, which is equivalent to twelve inches. The little lines between the inches is compose of 16 lines and the smallest unit of measurement is 1/ 16 of an inch. The longer the line, the larger the measurement.  Therefore, Stefan should include two decimal places in his measurements.
