I'm stuck, can someone me. maddie wanted to make a sugar-water solution to put in her hummingbird feeder. she found some sugar cubes and was about to drop them into a glass of water, when her brother suggested crushing the cubes before mixing. was this a good suggestion? why or why not? a) no. crushed or cubed did not matter. the nature of the solute is more important. eliminate b) yes. crushing the cube results in greater kinetic energy of the solute and therefore increases the rate of solution. c) yes. crushing the sugar cube provides greater surface area or contact on a molecular level between solute and solvent. d) no. regardless of the particle size, as long as the solute-solvent mixture is stirred the rate of solution will be the same.
