First, the acid rain may make the pH of water more acidic, and some organisms cannot survive in such environment and die.
Acid rain may also increase the amount of algae in water, and they will block the diffusion of oxygen into the water, thus the organism cannot respire, and they may die too.
This can lead to the decreasing amount of certain species and messing up the food chain.
