Why are rock samples from the Great Plains and from the Rocky Mountains composed of such similar minerals, when they look so different and come from different areas?

The rock of the Great Plains is called sedimentary rock and the rock of the Rocky Mountains is called a igneous rock.  A Sedimentary rock: is a type of rock that is formed by the buildup of mineral/organic particles at Earth's surface. And an Igneous rock: a type of rock that forms when magma (molten rock) cools/crystallizes. Since they formed in different ways they must not have formed together. Rocks can form in different ways, shapes sizes etc.. This causes them to be different types.

Explanation:
