Microscopes are necessary to study cells because cells are microscopic. Because a cell is the smallest unit of life, this means that they can’t be seen by the naked eye. But using a microscope allows scientists to zoom in and see all parts of a cell. Therefore, scientists must use microscopes to study cells. Microscopes have helped us discover new things like bacteria, diseases, new species, and to study fossils. As microscopes improve we can see smaller and smaller cells.
