Three principal characteristics of light affect plant growth: quantity, quality, and duration

Temperature

Temperature influences most plant processes, including photosynthesis, transpiration, respiration, germination, and flowering. As temperature increases (up to a point), photosynthesis, transpiration, and respiration increase. When combined with day-length, temperature also affects the change from vegetative (leafy) to reproductive (flowering) growth. Depending on the situation and the specific plant, the effect of temperature can either speed up or slow down this transition.

How water is involved

Water is directly involved in many chemical reactions to build and break down important components of the cell. Photosynthesis, the process in plants that creates sugars for all life forms, requires water. Water also participates in building larger molecules in cells

soil

Soil is the loose surface material that covers most land. It consists of inorganic particles and organic matter. Soil provides the structural support to plants used in agriculture and is also their source of water and nutrients. Soils vary greatly in their chemical and physical properties

Plants will slow down or speed up their growth rate based on the temperature. Warm temperatures encourage growth and germination. A warmer temperature will actually trigger a chemical reaction inside the cells of a plant and this will speed up respiration, transpiration, and the photosynthesis process.

Soil

Some specific plants have strict environmental requirements, like deep and soft soil, vital water and fertility retention, rich in organic matter, convenient drainage, and irrigation

Nutrients

Plants undergo photosynthesis during the growth process and synthesize many nutrients through the root system, to absorb effective nutrients from the soil to synthesize nutrients

Water

High-stalk crops usually consume a lot of water. To produce one kilogram of dry matter, these plants need at least 300ml of water, but no more than 500ml.

Light
