For chemical reaction
Fe3O4(r) + 8HCl(k) <-> FeCl2(r) + 2FeCl3(r) + 4H2O(k)
a. Without calculation, predict the sign of ∆S of the reaction (positive, negative or zero) and explain.
b. Calculate ∆H, ∆U, ∆S, ∆G and Kp of the reaction at standard conditions.
c. Given that the delta H, ∆S and ∆Cp of the reaction do not change with temperature, determine:
- The thermal effect of the reaction at the temperature T1=70 degrees C
Temperature conditions for the reaction to occur spontaneously.
d. Write the expression for the equilibrium constants Kp, Kc of the reaction. Calculate the equilibrium constant Kc at the temperature T1=70 degrees C
e. Determine the direction of equilibrium displacement of the reaction and explain, in the following cases:
- Increase the temperature - Increase the pressure - Increase the amount of inert substance
