Phagocyte mobilization is a process that has the purpose of getting the macrophages and neutrophils from where they are to where they should be. This process has four steps. These are:

1) Leukocytosis
2) Margination
3) Diapedesis
4) Chemotaxis

Chemotaxis is the final step of the mobilization. It is where a trail of neutrophils follow the concentration gradient towards the injured area.
