6. Hydrogen Emission Spectrum: Hydrogen gas (in a tube) is activated with electricity and begins to glow la gas light bulb). Then the light given off passes through a prism-like paper which separates the light
into specific individual wavelengths that is colors. The resulting lines of color are called the emission
spectrum of an element. In Hydrogen's emission spectrum, there is a line of light with 690 nm
(nanometers) wavelength and a line of light at 480 nm (we consider only these two for simplicity). One
of these is due to an electron jumping from n=4 to n=1 and another is due to an electron jumping from
n=2 to n=1. Use the above info, the picture of Hydrogen emission spectrum on pg.292 and the diagram
on pg.288 to answer the following:
Wavelenght 690 nm HAS
(color) DUE TO e-transition from n= to n=
Wavelength: 480 nm HAS
(color) DUE TO e transition from n= to n =

Phosgene (carbonyl chloride), cocl2, is an extremely toxic gas that is used in manufacturing certain dyes and plastics. phosgene can be produced by reacting carbon monoxide and chlorine gas at high temperatures: co(g) cl2(g)⇌cocl2(g) carbon monoxide and chlorine gas are allowed to react in a sealed vessel at 477 ∘c . at equilibrium, the concentrations were measured and the following results obtained: gas partial pressure (atm) co 0.830 cl2 1.30 cocl2 0.220 what is the equilibrium constant, kp, of this reaction
