What happens to the air as it gets farther from the heat source? This question is about thermal expansion and convection, not “it gets cooler”. Convection is the up and down movement of gasses and liquids as they gain thermal energy, but it is losing thermal energy so it would lose thermal expansion, so the gas would shrink and become colder.

does this sound like the right answer if it isnt can you tell me what is? and do not say it will get cooler
