Antioxidants are chemicals found in certain foods that have been suggested to help slow certain effects of the aging process. A friend of yours really likes tea, and he is hoping to test various different types of tea (green tea, black tea, etc.) for antioxidants. His plan is to brew the tea leaves, and then test the resulting tea for antioxidants. But he has encountered a dilemma – he typically brews his green tea for three minutes, whereas he brews black tea for five minutes. He is wondering if he should brew both types of tea for the same length of time, or if he should brew each type of tea for the length of time he would normally brew it before drinking it. Both experiments have value, but he only has enough tea to do one type of experiment.
Explain the pros and cons of each approach? which experiment should he conduct, and why?

For a research project, a student decided to test the effect of the lead(ii) ion (pb2+) on the ability of salmon eggs to hatch. this ion was obtainable from the water‐soluble salt, lead(ii) nitrate, which the student decided to make by the following reaction. pbo(s) + 2 hno3(aq) → pb(no3)2(aq) + h2o losses of product for various reasons were expected, and a yield of 86.0% was expected. in order to have 5.00 g of product at this yield, how many grams of pbo should be reacted? (assume that sufficient nitric acid, hno3, would be used.)
