Sanna and Eddie are getting breakfast at a coffee shop. Sanna bought a chocolate donut, and Eddie bought an apple fritter. Both Sanna and Eddie want to try the other person’s donut. Metaphorically speaking, if donuts were valence electrons, describe in terms of non-polar covalent, polar covalent, and ionic interactions how the donuts will be shared between Sanna and Eddie. Draw pictures in your notebook so that you can visualize what you’re describing. Remember to mention which type of interaction you are referring to for each scenario: non-polar covalent, polar covalent, and ionic.
