Two newly discovered compounds, Pandemonium and Cascadium, are put into an isolated system with each other. Initially, the Pandemonium is at 90.3 ºC and the Cascadium is at 20.6 ºC, but they are allowed to achieve thermal equilibrium with each other. The Pandemonium sample has a mass that is 4.7x larger than the mass of the Cascadium sample.

Pandemonium has a molar heat capacity that is 2.1x smaller than the molar heat capacity of Cascadium.

John thinks the Pandemonium will undergo a smaller change in temperature than the Cascadium. Is the statement true? If so, why is it correct? If not, explain why it is wrong.

Liquid from a brewery fermentation contains 10% ethanol and 90% water. part of the fermentation product (50,000 kg/h) is pumped to a distillation column on the factory site. under current operating conditions, a distillate of 45% ethanol and 55% water is produced from the top of the column at a rate of one-tenth that of the feed. what is the composition of the waste "bottoms" from the still?
