During a Lab exercise a student had a 142 grams mass of gold (Au) that was at a temperature of 100.0°C. The mass of gold (Au) was placed in to a styrofoam cup that contained 30.0 grams of H2O that was at a temperature of 17.0° C. After the gold (Au) was placed into the water, the temperature rose to 27.5° C. Using the formula M(metal) x Δ T(metal) x Sp H(metal) = M(H2O) x Δ T (H2O) x 4.2J/g * °C
calculate the specific heat of Gold (Au) metal.
