What did isaac newton believe light was made of

All these theories are somehow.. a mere attempt in understanding how light travels...
Sir Isaac Newton believed that the light is composed of extremely tiny unending corpuscles ( I.e extremely tiny spheres or particles analogous to a tennis ball which is capable of bouncing back when hit on a surface like wall ) in a similar manner light corpuscles travel in a straight path
and also Newton assumed that different colours could be seen because of difference in size of those corpuscles which when strike on human eye .. produces colour..
but his theory was abandoned because of some limitations which could be better explained with the help of light being considered as a wave.. ( given by huygens )
