Catalase is an enzyme found in many cells. It acts as a catalyst to break down hydrogen peroxide (a toxic chemical) to water and oxygen. If hydrogen peroxide is
added to a test tube containing chicken liver (which contains catalase), a chemical
reaction occurs, evidenced by production of bubbles. If the liver is heated no
reaction occurs. If vinegar is added to the liver, there is no reaction. Explain what
has happened based on what you know about enzymes.
