2. Wool blankets are insulators that make it hard for your body heat to pass through them into the outside air. "Space Blankets" are large, thin, reflective aluminum sheets that also make it hard for your body heat to pass through to the outside air. How is it possible?
a) the large surface area of the Space Blanket discourages heat transfer
b) The sheet is thin, so it is more difficult for heat to transfer through it
c) The reflective surface reflects body heat back to the user
d) Aluminum is a great insulator, just like wool
3. Why are denser, more solid materials such as metals better at conducting thermal energy?
a) all the molecules in metals are in direct contact
b) metallic atoms vibrate more than non metallic atoms
c) the thicker the material, the better it is at conducting heat
d) the energy transfers more quickly between the closer molecules
