If we use 1080 grams of (NH4)2SO4 and 2000 grams of Ba(NO3)2 to carry out reaction (NH4)2SO4 + Ba(NO3)2 ® 2 NH4+ (aq) + 2 NO3- (aq) + BaSO4(s)
there will be 8.18 moles of (NH4)2SO4 and 7.66 moles of Ba(NO3)2 react with each other, which is not a 1:1 ratio.
At the end of the reaction, one of the reactants will be completely consumed, whereas the other reactant will have an excess amount
