For the radical chlorination of methane, one of the propigation steps is a hydrogen abstraction:Instead of methane, you are using bibenzyl. Draw the structure of bibenzyl in your lab notebook. Bibenzyl has two benzylic positions. Benzylic radicals are particularly stable (similar to benzylic carbocations.) Assume that the bromine radical from the NBS initiation step attacks one ofthe benzylic hydrogens. Draw the mechanism for this propagation step for the reaction between bibenzyl and NBS.
