In "An Investigation into the Mechanism of the Ritter Reaction" experiment
a. On the basis of the classes and your results, what is the most likely mechanism for the Ritter reaction of a nitrile with a tertiary alcohol in the presence of sulfuric acid? Explain your reasoning.
b. Write reasonable mechanisms for the alcohols and alkenes that reacted with benzonitrile to form the same product in the second experiment. If any alcohols or alkenes did not react, explain why.
