Why do thicker lubricating oils have higher melting points ?

Lubricating oils have higher boiling points because they have longer chains of carbons. Longer chains means more bonds present. In order for a substance to melt, energy between the bonds should be more than the energy added. More bonds, more energy needed to overcome the bonds present.
