This experiment uses cabbage indicator to show how indicators can be used to determine if a solution is an acid or base. the materials for this experiment are: cabbage indicator distilled water white vinegar baking soda notebook paper several small, clear cups a larger clear container and several household liquids such as: clear soda baking powder dissolved in water clear shampoo lemonade liquid soap and fertilizer dissolved in water. your job is to observe the experiment and collect your own data from this demonstration. be sure to record all your observations and data. to start, make a hypothesis of which of the liquids will be acidic or basic. you know that vinegar is an acid and baking soda is a base. so you will test these, and distilled water, as our controls. fill each of three cups half full with the cabbage indicator. then to the first cup, add about a teaspoon of vinegar. add a teaspoon of baking soda to the second cup and a teaspoon of distilled water to the third. record the color of the solution in each cup on your datasheet. now you can use this procedure to test the other household liquids. fill each of six cups half full with cabbage indicator. add about a teaspoon of the household liquids to the appropriate cup. be sure to clean and dry the spoon before measuring out each substance. note the change in the color of the cabbage indicator and record on your datasheet. test what happens to the color of the cabbage indicator when the vinegar and baking soda solutions are mixed in a neutralization reaction. add the vinegar and cabbage solution to the larger container. then add the baking soda and cabbage solution indicator to the vinegar solution in the larger container. note and record all of your observations. now, using your observations, present your findings. now you can present your findings, using your observations from the video. present your findings write a summary paragraph discussing this experiment and the results. use the following questions to guide the content of your paragraph. what was your hypothesis? according to your data, was your hypothesis was correct? why did some substances require larger additions before a color change was seen? what does this indicate about the strength of the acid or base? what happened in the final step of the experiment? what does the final color indicate? to what extent was this experiment useful in determining ph? could a specific ph be determined using this procedure? why are acid and base indicators important? how could they be used in everyday life?

Which is a difference between molecular compounds and ionic compounds? select the correct answer below: question 5 options: molecular compounds typically form between a metal and a nonmetal, while ionic compounds typically form between nonmetals. molecular compounds result from the transfer of electrons between atoms to form ions, while ionic compounds result from the sharing of electrons between neutral atoms. molecular compounds are formed of discrete, neutral molecules, while ionic compounds are formed of large repeating arrays of opposite charges. molecular compounds have high melting points and high boiling points, while ionic
