Describe three ways energy can be transferred by waves

Energy can be transferred in three ways by waves are termed as electromagnetic waves, water waves and sound waves.

Energy in any form can only be transferred as stated from law of conservation of energy. And this transfer of any kind of energy can be done in terms of waves or by the waves. This indicates that medium is required for transfer of energy. The medium can be waves or by collision. By waves, we can transfer the energy with the help of electromagnetic waves, water waves and sound waves.

The electromagnetic waves transfer energy by vibration of electric and the magnetic field while the water waves transfer energy by vibration of water molecules. Similarly, the sound waves transfer energy by its vibration of the air particles or solid particles. Thus, in all the cases, the kinetic energy is only transferred and not the particles.
