meteorologists want to design a system of instruments that will evaluate ocean currents, air temperatures, and wind speed in order to predict catastrophic weather such as hurricanes and cyclones. before building a working system of the weather instruments, the scientists have built a prototype. using their prototype, scientists have collected data and used that data to predict changes in the weather.
