marble is 14 cm cubed & cylinder initial volume is 105 ml. show the formula on how to arrive at the answer of 124 ml for the final volume so i can understand how to solve these types of problems going forward.

Initial volume mentioned = 105mL

Marble volume should be 19mL or  instead of

That is,

Volume of the object (Marble) = Volume of water displaced

= 124 mL - 105 ml = 19 mL

The formula is  

Volume of the object (Marble)

= final volume of water – Initial volume of water

So,

Final volume = Volume marble + Initial volume

= 19 mL + 105 mL = 124 mL
