What form the ideal gas law would you use to calculate the temperature of a gas

You can use any form of the Ideal Gas Law, but usually one form is more convenient, depending on the information given.

There are three forms of the Ideal Gas Law.

Form 1

P V = n R T

If the question gives you the number of moles  then

Form 2

P V = m M R T , where  m  is the mass of the gas and  

M  is its molar mass.
