After the devastating earthquake destroyed lots of physical infrastructure among others in Nepal. Government, its authorities and general people are now concerned of building houses and like that with proper engineering and architect. Recently architecture engineering is made compulsory before constructing buildings. It also become like a fashion too even in the emerging cities like Kawaswoti, Manigram etc. With the increasing number of people living at cities area, increasing consciousness and legal provision, architecture has its huge scope in Nepal.Nepal is going on development stage now so you don't think about low scope in Nepal . its scope is incresing day to day Nepal because there are so many infrastructure are doing reconstruction.As an architect who has been working along military engineers for the vast majority of my my career, I can safely state that they are two very different fields. Architecture is about habitable design, determining what spaces are required, we call it the program, how big they should be, how many people will use it, and what image does the client wants to convey with the project. The job of the Architect starts from the abstract and big picture requirements and then works it’s way down to the very detailed particulars of the project. It’s sort of the 10,000 feet view, for example a campus master plan design or just the project’s site plan, and then work it’s way down to the 1/8” of an inch detailed drawings for building components; and yes, precision level for architecture is at least 1/8” of an inch. At the same time, architects have to coordinate with several engineers to fine tune the design and strike a cost and construct-ability balance.

The other typical engineers involved are: Civil, deals with site improvement, leveling, drainage, pavement and road design, water supply, sewer and general infrastructure, Electrical, Mechanical, who design Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning system and plumbing, Structural, which are highly specialized Civil Engineers who concentrate their practice in the specific design of structural elements, and finally Landscape Architects.

Architects are thought and take classes for all Engineering disciplines; however, the intent is to be able to serve as the director of the orchestra rather than as the technical expert or master of the particular instrument. For this reason, and because it wouldn’t be efficient by a single professional to do everything, the practice has evolved to individual fields of specialization and each discipline and professional brings a specific experience to the table that its highly desired to expedite design work. So back to the question: which one is harder? Well, in my opinion the job of the architect is harder since it has to balance far more variables than the Engineers have to, they also need to integrate the design team and deal with the client. However, this holds true for traditional building design and after all there are also pure infrastructure projects for which an architect won’t be involved and the Civil Engineer, Mechanical or Electrical would act as the project’s lead designer and Project Manager, in this cases there are almost at an equal footing. However, if you’ve been able to see a building’s drawing plans; the architect would have had to design way more than any other discipline and about 30–40% of the entire set would be designed by the architect while each other discipline will add between 15% to 20% of the total. Both are very capable, one balances art and science while the Engineers are highly specialized scientist and technical experts in their fields.
