What is required, of the iacuc, by the usda awa regulations regarding alternatives?

The USDA AWA has required the IACUC regulations in regards with alternatives. They require them to consider alternatives to painful or distressing procedures ensured by the principal investigator. Another thing is to have a review which should be set as a written assurance when there is no availability of alternatives.
