Usually, being at a period of an "economic boom" is seen as a good thing. It results in higher GDP - as consumers are spending more, as they have more spending power. Which means, an increase in Unemployment rate - the government wouldn't have to worry about paying unemployed citizens benefits. However, it all leads to inflationary pressure. This encourages spending, and discourages saving. In this case, the economic boom had a significant effect on the sale of Tobacco in Virginia. The trade of tobacco EXPANDED, quite literally. By the end of the 1620s, Virginia made a fair market selling Tobacco, seeing that they had no other resources, thus, means of growing their economy.
