You have recently been promoted to the supervisor Factory A. The owner has given youseveral objectives that need to be met in your first six months of work. The main objective is to produce 3000 toy car's at the factory. You know what needs to be done, however, input from the employees could also be useful as they have been working there
longer than you. The workers have not received a pay rise this year, and the company
cannot afford this until the 3000 toy car's are produced. The employee's are starting to feel unmotivated and bored with the repetitive work.
You need to think about your leadership style to this problem, is a democratic approach or
autocratic approach going to work best?
Task: You need to select to either be a democratic or autocratic leader. Prepare a two
minute speech to give to the employees, either as democratic leader or autocratic leader.
Your speech must include:
- Explaining the objective to the employees
- Sharing how you want the employee's to work toward the objective
- Mention the situation around achieving the objective and receiving a pay rise
- How could you motivate these workers?
