A community usually refers to a group of people who interact with each other as a group, but the word can also refer to different groups of organisms, plants or animals, which share the same environment. People communities encompasses everything from the smallest groups, such as the family, to the largest units, such as the global community. Individuals are usually participants in many different communities at each stage of life where they play different roles. Making connections with different communities is an important part of the socialization of individuals that takes place throughout life.
