Write up a personal change project in which you apply what you have learned so far in this course to developing a concrete action plan for initiating an organizational change that is personally relevant to you. Problem statement.
My organization is pushing for all Testing and Evaluation (T&E) to maintain the day-to-day cost estimates for all assigned programs. The reason for the change was due to lack of oversight on the test and evaluation team. The Test Managers and Evaluators parameter became major concern despite the three levels of milestones that T&E need to cover. The push back from Test Managers and Evaluators during alignment of Project manager’s cost estimate and execution was complexity. Furthermore, Test Managers and Evaluators believe that the time spent in reconciling two different cost estimates should not be combined because of different funding source and oversights from two different agencies. (major issue is adoption)
Personal Change Project
During this course, you will write up a personal change project in which you apply what you have learned so far in this course to developing a concrete action plan for initiating an organizational change that is personally relevant to you. This project should include the following components:
(1) Description of Problem: identify and briefly describe a specific organizational problem that you would like to address or a specific organizational change that you would like to introduce in your current or past organization. Also provide some background information about the organization that you would like to change if necessary.
(2) Change Agent: explain your relationship with the organizational problem: 1) who you are and why you try to address the organizational problem, 2) your predicted roles as a change agent in addressing the problem, 3) your potential resources (e. g., position, authority, relationships, information, etc.) and limitations that you might have as a change agent. You can make your own assumptions if necessary.
(3) Analysis: Analyze your change situation and key underlying factors using specific course materials such as the change frameworks. Be sure to include the stakeholder analysis where you identify the key stakeholders, their interests, and possible responses (the stakeholder mapping)
(4) Change Models and Course Concepts: Select appropriate course concepts and a change model (Kotter’s eight‐step model, Seo’s four‐process model, the seven step model used in the GlobalTech simulation or positive deviance model in the course readings) that you would like to apply to this change project and justify your choice.
(5) Action Plan: Develop concrete action plan based on your change model and other related course concepts. Try to be as concrete as possible. Also be sure to discuss your role as a change agent and the skills and abilities that you need to develop to effectively perform your role as a change agent.
(6) Insights Learned from Your Action‐Learning Team Session: Briefly describe what lessons or insights you learned from the action‐learning team session regarding your understanding of the problem or your plan for actions.
