Bill Gates helped build a computer software company called Microsoft. Bill was born on October 28, 1955. At age 13, he started using anew computer at his school. Bill and his friend Paul Allen, wrote programs to run on it.

In 1975 they started their own business which was known as Microsoft. Their company began making software for personal computers (PCs).

In 1985 Microsoft came out with Windows. This operating system made PCs easier for people to use. Bill's success made him billionaire. This caused Microsoft to become the world's largest software company.

Bill Gates lives in Medina, Washington in the United States of America. He has a very expensive and luxurious home there.
