Short term environmental change is when there are changes in the environment that affects the organisms immediately.

a) Ice age: It is not short term as it has effect on the climate that take place slowly with time and affect organisms over generations causing changes in DNA.

b) an EL Nino storm: It is the fluctuation in temperatures between the oceans and the atmosphere caused by changes in wind patterns. It is a short term environmental change that occurs every 5 years.
