Glucose is the body's primary source of energy. The organ involved in the regulation of glucose are pancreas. Along the pancreas are structures of islets called Langerhans which consist of two types of cells -alpha and beta. Alpha cells produce glucagon while beta cells produce insulin. These hormones regulate blood sugar level.
The body structures involved in the regulation of blood pressure are the organs belonging to the circulatory system namely heart, kidneys, and blood vessels. The heart pumps the blood and determines the rhythmn or pulse while kidneys release hormones to manage blood pressure. Blood vessels are adjusted depending on the signals sent by the brain.
The body structures involved in the control of pH levels are mainly the lungs and kidneys. The carbon-oxygen exchange regulates the blood pH level to alkaline. Kidneys can absorb carbonic acid, lowering the blood pH level to normal.
