mRNA processing is a gene regulation strategy that is used by eukaryotic cells in order to be able to control and regulate the genes that is present in the DNA of their cells.

mRNA processing takes place in the nucleus whereby 5' End of the mRNA strand undergoes the process of capping during the transcription stage. After the transcription stage , polyadenylation of 3' end of the mRNA strand occurs leading the other formation of a poly tail. Spliceosomes remove introns from the mRNA strand, leaving the relevant exons to bind together during a process that is referred to a splicing. After this the processing of the mRNA is completed and the mRNA moves from the nucleus to the cytoplasm of the cell.
