explain the relationship between photosynthesis and cellular respiration. be sure to include the main purpose of both and where they occur inside the cell?

Photosynthesis is the process by which light energy is transformed into glucose (sugars) that can be used by plants. Cellular respiration is the process in which cells make energy in the form of ATP. Photosynthesis occurs in the chloroplasts of the plant cell, while cellular respiration occurs in the mitochondria.  

They work together in the carbon cycle. When the process of photosynthesis makes glucose, cellular respiration uses it to make ATP. Both are dependent with each other because the by-product of photosynthesis, which is oxygen, is needed in the process of cellular respiration. The energy can be converted and reverted back through the carbon cycle for the plant cell to be able to breathe and function normally.
