Most arteries of the adult body carry oxygen-rich blood and the veins carry oxygen-poor blood. how does this differ in the pulmonary artieries and veins?

The normal oxygenated arteries and deoxygenated veins switches in the pulmonary artery and the pulmonary vein.

These are the only artery/vein combination that will be opposite within the body.

The pulmonary artery will carry DEoxygenated blood from the heart and into the lungs for diffusion/oxygen exchange

The pulmonary vein will carry OXYGENATED blood back to the heart after diffusion in the lungs happen.
