No. Not all organisms. Because in a way fish are organisms and there are some that live way down in the deep dark water. And they cannot swim up to where the sun is or they would disintegrate. So the answer would be no, not all organisms depend on the sun for energy. Different organisms have different ways of getting energy.

No. There are organisms on the bottom of the ocean called chemosynthetic bacteria that feed off chemicals in vents. These chemicals are used for energy, not the sun.

Some of her  assignments would be creation of drugs. she is a medical chemist after all so she'd need to have the necessary knowledge to make medicine which can later be sold in a pharmacy
