In addition, Mechanical Soft Diet can be functional to offer foods that have been mechanically altered in texture to entail minimal chewing, used for clients who have struggle chewing but can stand more variation in texture that a liquid diet offers and used for clients who have dental difficulties, operation of the head or neck, or dysphagia which involves swallowing assessment and may require condensed liquids if the client has swallowing problems.
