Ecologist are the scientist who surveys the ecosystem. They study the interaction of organisms with themselves and with the environment. They study the functional roles performed by living organisms in the ecosystem like how they derive their food, mating season chosen, which habitat they choose for  their survival. An ecologist is an environmental scientist who will study the interactions in gorillas. An ecologist will study how the gorilla species interact among themselves (mating and reproduction), compete for resources (food and habitat) with other members of the population and with other species,how they interact with other species in an ecosystem (predator-prey relationships).
