There are three main parts of large intestine

a) Cecum - cecum has no major role in food digestion. It passes the food to the colon

b) Colon  - It has three sub parts

     i. the ascending colon - Bacteria in colon digest the remaining food

     ii. the transverse colon - It absorbs fluid and salts

     iii. the descending colon - hold the waste

c) rectum

when you breathe in, or inhale, your diaphragm contracts (tightens) and moves downward. this increases the space in your chest cavity, into which your lungs expand. the intercostal muscles between your ribs also enlarge the chest cavity. they contract to pull your rib cage both upward and outward when you inhale.
