How does the soil-based view of the phosphorus cycle compare/contrast with the global view of the phosphorus cycle?

The soil based view of the phosphorus cycle has to do with the movement of the  phosphorus element from the  point of rock weathering into the soil until the phosphorus is returned back to the soil. 
The soil based view of phosphorus cycle holds that phosphorus are incorporated into the soil from weathered rocks. The phosphorus in the soil is later incorporated inside the compounds manufacture by plants. When animals and man eat these compounds the phosphorus is pass on to them. The phosphorus is finally returned to the soil when these organisms die.

The global view of phosphorus cycle on the other hand has to do with the movement of phosphorus from the land into the oceans and then back to the land again. On land, phosphates are found in form of phosphates, when these phosphates are washed into the sea by erosion, they accumulate on continental shelves in form of insoluble sediments.
