Mitosis and melosis are both process that cells go through to make new cells. Mitosis occurs in somatic cells such as skin cells, muscle cells, and blood cells. The purpose of mitosis is to replace old or damaged cells and will be identical to the cells that they are derived from. Meiosiscreates cells that we
call gametes. Gametes are only for reproduction purposes and the number of chromosomes in these cells is half of the number of chromosomes when
compared to the parent cells.
