Outline two advantages and disadvantages of maintaining a constant internal body temperature

An animal capable of maintaining a constant internal body temperature is called as warm-blooded animal or endothermic animal.

Advantages of being endothermic:

1. Able to live in cold or hot climate.

2. A fairly constant body temperature whatever the external temperature is.

Disadvantage of being endothermic:

1. Lots of energy expenditure.

2. More food required.
