QUESTION 2 2.1 Lizards of a certain species are usually brown in colour. As a results of continental
drift the population was split by the sea. A mutation in one gene for body colour IN
black Lizards resulted in red or black Lizards forming. Over many generations black
Lizards mated with red Lizards and infertile offsprings were produced. While when
brown lizards were brought together, the two could not interbreed at all since some
were active in the day and some in the night.
When brown Lizards mated with black Lizards, fertile offsprngs were produced.
