A) Identify the Dependent and Independent variables

The Independent variable is Temperature.

The Dependent variable is the seeds. The dependent variable is the variable that is being studied.

B) Calculate the average height of the seedlings in tube C.

To find the average, you must add up all of the heights and divide by the number of seedlings.

3.4 + 4.5 + 2.5 + 3.7 + 2.8 + 4.4 + 4.3 + 2.9 + 2.1 + 3.7 = 34.3

34.3 ÷ 10 = 3.43 cm

C) Conclusion

The seedlings in tube C grew much taller than the seedlings in tubes A and B.  

This means that seedlings germinate better in warmer temperatures.

D) Why does Temperature affect Germination?

The temperature of the climate affects the dampness of the cotton wool. Moisture is key to germinating seeds. Seeds like a moist but not soggy environment caused by the correct temperature.

E) How could the experiment be better controlled?

The light levels in this experiment varied, but were not accounted for in the calculations.

It would have been better to keep them all under the same amount of light in order to keep the experiment accurate.
