It's found in brown flavors, such as caramel, butterscotch, and other sweeteners. 2. Formaldehyde: This can cause lung disease and contribute to heart disease. It's a colorless, strong-smelling gas used in making building materials and many household products. It is also used in pressed-wood products, like particle board, plywood, and fiber board. 3.
